    The summary of the day – Russian Victory Day, Energy Forum in Warsaw [VIDEO]

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin said during a joint press conference with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, and Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskva, that an offer of aid from State Treasury companies which will be transferred to the Ukrainian government is being prepared.

    75TH DAY OF RUSSIAN AGGRESSION 

     

    Russian occupiers organised a military parade in the ruined city of Mariupol, whereby some estimate up to 20,000 Ukrainians have died, to mark Victory Day over Germany in the Second World War. Denis Pushilin, the leader of the Donetsk-based Russian separatists, walked at the head of the parade. Smaller provocative victory parades were also organised by the Russians in other occupied cities and towns.

    Russian Federation Ambassador Sergei Andreyev was doused with red paint at the Cemetery of Red Army Soldiers in Warsaw. In front of the entrance to the cemetery, a group of people with Ukrainian flags and pictures depicting Russian war crimes were waiting for him. According to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such an incident should not have taken place and the interior minister stressed that “the Polish authorities did not recommend that the Russian ambassador lay flowers”.

    Poland can claim compensation from Russia for the 1940 Katyn Massacre of over 20,000 Polish POWs by Soviet security forces, Poland’s president said on Monday. Meeting descendants of the massacre at Warsaw’s Katyn Museum, Andrzej Duda said Poland was entitled to file for compensation from Russia as it was the legal successor of the Soviet Union.
