    The 120th anniversary of Jozef Mackiewicz celebrated through a concert

    Józef Mackiewicz was born on April 1st, 1902. He fought in the Polish-Soviet War of 1919-1920 and had strong anticommunist views. He was a journalist, novelist and political commentator, especially critical of the hostile internal policy of the 2nd Polish Republic government towards ethnic minorities. His most renowned works are “One is Not Supposed to Speak Aloud” and “The Road to Nowhere”. He died in 1985 in exile, in Munich.

    The concert is titled “Only Truth Fascinates” and its goal is to familiarize more audiences with the life and ideas of Jozef Mackiewicz regarding the 120th anniversary of his birth. It will take place at the Palladium Theatre in Warsaw at 7 P.M. on Wednesday. The entry is free, and the concert will be transmitted online through the Facebook profile of Universitatis Varsoviensis Foundation and on the Theatre’s website.
