    The 48th edition of the Polish Film Festival is set to take place from September 18th to September 23rd, 2023, in the picturesque coastal town of Gdynia. This annual extravaganza promises a cinematic feast, featuring a total of 120 full-length and short films.

    The festival will host three competitive sections: the Main Competition, where 16 full-length feature films will vie for the coveted Golden Lions; the Microbudget Films Competition, showcasing four low-budget gems; and the Short Films Competition, featuring 25 remarkable titles.

    In addition to premiering the latest works of Polish filmmakers, the festival will offer a rich program of accompanying events. Among them, the “Masterful Five” special section promises to be a highlight.

    Audiences can look forward to engaging discussions with filmmakers and debates addressing the challenges and prospects of Polish cinema. An exhibition dedicated to the remarkable set designs by Allan Starski for films like “Oliver Twist,” “The Pianist,” and “Hannibal” will also be on display. Starski will be honored with the Platinum Lions for his outstanding contributions during the awards ceremony.
