Since today the drivers can commute between Niedrzwica Duża and Kraśnik faster. A new section of Expressway S19 – Via Carpatia route – is ready to use. It was the last section of S19 between Lublin and Rzeszów. The investment is supposed to be complete by 2023.
On May 21, 2022, an approximately 20-kilometer section of Expressway S19 between Niedrzwica Duża and Kraśnik has been commissioned. As a result, drivers can now use the entire expressway between Lublin and Rzeszów.
The initiator of the construction of this road was the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński. Today, the expressway bears his name. An important stage of this investment has ended. 17 engineering facilities, including 12 viaducts, two passages for large animals, a bridge, and two footbridges were built as part of the project. The task also included the construction of the Wilkołaz road junction.
The total construction cost of the S19 from the Lublin Węglin junction to the Sokołów Małopolski Północ junction (including preparatory works, land purchase, and supervision) is approximately PLN 4.5 billion, of which over PLN 2.2 billion comes from EU funds. The construction was divided into twelve construction sections with a total length of approx. 130 km.
