    Swiatek beats Pegula in French Open quarterfinals

    Iga Świątek advanced to the semifinals of the Grand Slam French Open in sensational style. The Polish tennis player defeated American Jessica Pegula 6:3, 6:2 in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at Roland Garros in Paris.

    Iga Świątek made a superb start to her French Open quarter-final against Jessica Pegula. Wednesday’s win against Pegula was already the 33rd consecutive victory for Świątek. 

     

     

    “Swiatek has now beaten Pegula twice during her 33-match stretch; they also played in the semifinals of the Miami Open in March, where Swiatek eventually won the third of her five straight titles,” WTA Staff notes

     

     

    Iga Świątek will play against Daria Kasatkina for the final at Roland Garros.
