Polish women’s volleyball team defeated South Korea 3:0 in Bossier City, USA, in their third Nations League match. In the first set, the red-whites let their rivals get away with only 9 points.
Last year the Koreans were led by the current national coach Stefano Lavarini, and at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, they took fourth place. Meanwhile, in the Nations League, they play with a much-changed line-up, among others, without their biggest star Kim Yeon-Koung.
Poland’s third match of the tournament began well. They led 6:0 and after a while 12:1. Lavarini once again changed the line-up.
In the second set, the Asians came back to the game. In the beginning, the red whites gained a slight advantage, but rivals quickly caught up and with every next action they felt more and more confident. It was getting more and more difficult for Poles to score points, and after Kim Heejin’s ace, they lost 19:21.
The Italian coach made several changes in the next set. The Polish team’s game again became smoother and more effective in attack. The Koreans kept pace with the Poles until 9:6, and then the advantage of Lavarini’s team grew rapidly and the match was one-sided again, as in the first set.
