    Volleyball Nations League: Poland spectacularly defeated France

    The toughest challenge of the first Nations League tournament turned out to be pleasant for Polish volleyball players. In the last match in Canada, Poland defeated the Olympic gold medalists – France – 3:1.

    At the end of the rivalry in the first Nations League tournament, the Polish team had to face the Olympic champions. 

     

    Poles lost in the first set but then started the second one much better. The Polish team went with the flow. There were some unnecessary nerves, but finally, the Poles won the second set.

     

    The battle from the beginning of the third set gained momentum. Once the French were in the lead, and once the Poles had the advantage. Eventually, the Poles won the third set too. 

     

    Polish players made life difficult for French players in the fourth set. A momentary pause, however, made rivals get closer, 21:18, and coach Grbić was forced to ask for a timeout. In the end, there were again some nerves, but Fornal and Butryn helped. The set ended with Poland’s victory after Yacine Louati’s serve. 

     

    First Volleyball Nations League tournament Poland finished with a balance of three wins and one loss.
