    After he had bypassed the barriers, he drove into the train! The driver and his passenger fled [PHOTOS]

    Today in Trawniki, Swidnik district, a BMW driver bypassed a barrier and drove into a Chelm – Lublin train. After the accident, he and his passenger left the scene. Both of them were detained by district police officers after 2 hours. The driver turned out to be a 30-year-old man and the passenger an 18-year-old woman. They did not suffer any injuries. In the car police officers found amphetamine.

    The dangerous incident at the level crossing in Trawniki happened at 8.30 am on Saturday.

     

    “Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of a BMW bypassed a lowered barrier and then drove into a passenger train en route Chelm – Lublin. The car hit the side of the moving train. After the collision, the driver and his passenger left the scene on foot,” said Elwira Domaradzka of the Świdnik District Police Station.

     
    “After two hours, district policemen from Świdnik Police Station found the 30-year-old driver and 18-year-old female passenger on the road in Ewopole. “They did not suffer any injuries. Their alcohol test results are negative. We are still waiting for the results on the presence of drugs in their bodies,” she added. 

     

    The passengers of the train were also not hurt. For about three hours, rail traffic at the spot was running on a single track.
