Hubert Hurkacz faced Daniil Medvedev on Sunday for the fifth time in his career. The two tennis players have been tied so far in the history of their rivalry, but it was Russian – the leader of the ATP ranking – who was pointed out as the clear favourite in Halle.

Unexpectedly, however, Hurkacz dictated the pace from the beginning of the match. He served fantastically, and to top it all, he broke Medvedev’s serve on the very first occasion. The fans were rubbing their eyes with amazement when the score was 6:1 for the Pole after the first set.
In the second set, he continued his performance and his opponent clearly couldn’t find a way to defeat the perfectly disposed Polish tennis player. The Pole’s form is also an excellent forecast for the upcoming Wimbledon.
