Krzysztof Piątek to follow in Robert Lewandowski's path? German giant interested in the Polish striker

Krzysztof Piątek is likely to leave Hertha Berlin in the near future. However, the Polish footballer could stay in the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund interested in hiring the 27-year-old striker.

For a long time, there have been voices coming from Berlin that Hertha would be happy to get rid of Krzysztof Piątek from their payroll. The striker is not particularly effective in the Bundesliga, having performed much better on Italian pitches. It was a transfer or loan to Serie A that seemed the most likely option for the footballer.

However, it turns out that Piątek might stay in Germany. He would benefit from the huge bad luck of Sebastian Haller, whom Borussia Dortmund recently brought in from Ajax Amsterdam. However, it turned out that Haller had to leave BVB’s training camp when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

In this situation, Dortmund is urgently looking for a new striker to replace the Ivorian sniper at the start of the season. Friday would be one of the club’s first choices as Robert Lewandowski began his Bundesliga conquest.

The captain of the Polish national team formed a sensational trio in Dortmund together with Jakub Błaszczykowski and Łukasz Piszczek. Under the leadership of the charismatic Juergen Klopp, the club from the Ruhr region of BVB with the Poles in the line-up successfully competed with Bayern Munich.
