Our women from the Polish National Team won the first medal at the European Championships in Munich. The cyclists won a bronze medal in the Women’s Team Sprint competition in cycling. Congratulations to Marlena Karwacka, Urszula Łoś, and Nikola Sibiak!
The European Championships 2022 will be held in Munich on August 11-21.
The multi-sport tournament takes place four years after the inaugural edition co-hosted by Berlin and Glasgow, and features nine Olympic sports (in 2018 there were seven): Athletics, Beach Volleyball, Canoe Sprint, Cycling (Track, MTB, BMX freestyle, Road), Gymnastics (Artistic), Rowing, Sport Climbing, Table Tennis and Triathlon. During the cycling competition, the Polish women were defeated by the French team in the finals. Frenchwomen won by only 0.177 seconds. However, our Polish cyclist Marlena Karwacka started the race in great style and Urszula Łoś kept the lead in the second shift. Eventually, Nikola Sibiak finished the race with success. Poles won a bronze medal!

Moreover, Nikola Wielowska won a bronze medal in the Women’s Scratch Race 10km! Wielowska’s bronze medal is the second Polish award that was won by our representatives on the second day of the championships.
