However, it turned out that this victory cost the White-Reds a lot of strength, because, in the next EuroBasket match, they succumbed to the Finns.

“Poland had a rude awakening after their fine performance against Czech Republic. Alarms are off, especially because none of their players scored in double figures,” we can read on the official FIBA EuroBasket 2022 website

“We look like we stayed in our hotel. They were better in every aspect of basketball, we couldn’t answer anything, that’s a huge lesson for us. Right now we have to rest, take everything what was good – not a lot of things – and stay focused on the next game,” Michal Sokolowski, Poland, commented after the match for FIBA EuroBasket 2022

The next rivals of the Polish basketball players will be Israel, the Netherlands and Serbia in the group. The four best teams from the group will advance to the next phase of the European Championships.

    Poland – Finland 59:89 (16:26, 14:18, 14:20, 15:25)
