Yesterday, Bartosz Zmarzlik became the winner of the speedway Grand Prix in Vojens. The Pole beat Britain’s Robert Lambert and Denmark’s Leon Madsen in the final of the eighth event of the world championship series. Fourth place went to Patryk Dudek.
A fortnight ago in Wrocław, Zmarzlik was expected to extend his lead over second overall Madsen and take a big step towards a third world championship. The opposite happened, as he dropped out in the semi-final, and the Dane was second and came within 16 points. On Saturday, it was Madsen who rode at home and hoped to make up for his loss.
However, Maciej Janowski and Paweł Przedpełski dropped out of the competition after the main stage.
Zmarzlik strengthened his lead in the GP general classification. There are still two qualifiers to be played – in Malilla, Sweden, on 17 September and in Toruń on 1 October.
