Iga Swiatek once again showed that she is the world’s best tennis player. In the semifinals of the WTA tournament in San Diego, she defeated American Jessica Pegula 4:6, 6:2, 6:2 in three sets. Iga will play her ninth final this season, but she still doesn’t know her rival.
The beginning of the match belonged to the Pole, who led in the first game 4:2. However, the American surprised the WTA ranking leader with her game, winning four straight games and consequently the first set. The Pole was in crisis, but she was helped by rain, which interrupted the meeting for an hour.
After the break, the Pole revived and presented a high level. She won twice at 6:2 and advanced to her ninth WTA tournament final of the season.
