Świątek wins the eighth title of the season. This time in San Diego [VIDEO]

It was not easy at all, but in the third set, the world-ranking leader showed incredible tennis. Iga Swiatek defeated Croatian Donna Vekić 2:1 (6:3, 3:6, 6:0). The World No.1 won her eighth WTA tournament of the season and eleventh of her career. The Pole is very fond of playing in the US. She reached triumph in San Diego. Earlier she won in New York, Miami and Indian Wells.

Paris, Adelaide, Rome, Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, New York and now San Diego have appeared on Iga Swiatek’s list of winning cities. The World No.1 won her eighth WTA tournament of the season and eleventh of her career. The Pole defeated Croatian Donna Vekić after a 109-minute battle.

Her rival presented solid tennis. She served strongly, spread the Pole well all over the court and was able to take advantage of opportunities. She was quite lucky at the same time, as she was often helped by the tape. Swiatek was able to respond with the same. Her first serve did not disappoint, and neither did her accuracy. After a difficult end, it was a Polish tennis player who could enjoy the win.

In the second set, the Croatian rose to the heights of her skills and abilities. This time it was she who broke the world ranking leader. She hit almost everything, won long plays and deservedly led to a draw.

The brilliantly playing Croatian strongly irritated and upset the Pole. In the third game, the audience heard the famous “Jazda” for the first time. Two games “to zero” and just 26 minutes of play. That was the decisive game in a nutshell.
