2022 IHF Super Globe – Łomża Industria Kielce won with Al-Kuwait

Łomża Industria Kielce fights for the first ever world club handball championship. The Polish Champions received a wild card for the tournament as the second team of the Champions League. Six years ago, they won third place, and now they have a chance to fight for victory. Today, the team won its first match with the winner of the Asian Champions League, Al Kuwait in IHF Super Globe. The Łomża Industria Kielce team defeated their rivals 47:26 (23:14).

The Polish champions emphasized that these competitions are very important to them, despite the fact that handball on the Arabian Peninsula is not a very popular sport. To the fans’ joy, the Poles played a very good match. Talant Duyshebaev’s team faced Al Kuwait.

The game was only even for the first ten minutes. Then, Polish Europe’s vice-champions led 10:7, thanks, among others, to Mateusz Kornecki.

Łomża Industria controlled the game without any problems and scored easy goals. Also, coach Duyshebaev skilfully rotated the squad and a fairly young player 19-year-old left  winger Szymon Wiaderny played in the match. He scored as many as seven goals in nine attempts.

In the 52nd minute, the team from Kielce has already scored their 40th point in the match against the Kuwaiti players. Eventually, they defeated Al Kuwait 47:26 (23:14).

The Polish team included: Kornecki, Wolff, Sánchez-Migallón, Wiaderny, Sićko, D. Dujshebaev, A.Dujshebaev, Gębala, Olejniczak, Karacic, Thrastarson, Moryto, Remili, Paczkowski, Torunat, Karalek.

On Thursday, October 20 at 11:15, Łomża Industria Kielce will play against the Taubate team from Brazil.

The match will be broadcast on TVP SPORT. The winner will be promoted to the top four of the IHF Super Globe 2022 competition and other games will take place over the weekend.
