The meeting took place on October 25 and lasted almost two and a half hours. Hurkacz won 7: 6 (11-9), 3: 6, 6: 3. The Pole is still fighting for the ATP finals in Turin. He will play for participation in the quarter-finals against Emil Ruusuvouri on Thursday.
For now, five tennis players will play in the ATP finals: Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, and Novak Djoković.

There are five candidates for the remaining three places in the finals. So far, Hurkacz is in the worst position. Daniil Medvedev, Andrei Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Taylor Fritz have better chances to qualify. Hurkacz’s victory with Tiafoe gave him necessary advantage and thanks to this, he is still fighting with Felix Auger-Alliasime and Taylor Fritz for the place in the finals.
