Hubert Hurkacz still has chance to play in the ATP Finals

Hubert Hurkacz can still appear in the ATP Finals tournament for the best players of the season, but he needs a triumph in Paris or has to count on the bad luck of others.

Hubert Hurkacz remained ninth in the Race to Turin ranking, which will determine the eight participants in the ATP Finals tournament, the best tennis players of the season. The event is due to begin on November 13.

The leader of the Race to Turin is Carlos Alcaraz. Then there is also Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud and Novak Djoković, who is just behind Hurkacz in this ranking, but a place in the masters gave him victory at Grand Slam Wimbledon.

Hurkacz’s last opportunity to improve his standings will be at the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris, which begins Monday. To appear in Turin, Hurkacz first and foremost needs a triumph in the French capital. It is possible, however, that the Pole will still appear in the ATP Finals while during last season, two players from the top eight dropped out. This year, Rafael Nadal’s performance is still uncertain, as he has been struggling with an injury for a long time.
