Polish volleyball player Wilfredo León lost consciousness during the match

In Tuesday’s clash for the Italian Super Cup, Sir Safety Perugia defeated Lube Civitanova 3: 2 (20:25, 25:22, 23:25, 25:22, 15: 8). Polish fans certainly counted on the next show of Polish representatives, Kamil Semeniuk and Wilfredo León. Unfortunately, Polish volleyball player Wilfredo León lost consciousness during the match and did not manage to play it to the end. Wilfredo: “I was afraid. I completely blacked out for a moment. When I regained consciousness, the game was over.”

“On behalf of my husband and myself, thank you for your caring and supportive news after this terrible situation in the final match. My world stopped for a moment, so far I’m recovering. Wilfredo is now on his way to the hospital, where he will undergo a head examination,”, said Małgorzata León, Wilfredo’s wife on Twitter.

Leon scored 23 points in the final match and was one of the best players on the pitch. The host of the Polish national team, unfortunately, did not finish the meeting. All thanks to a dangerous looking fall at the end of the tie-break. At 12: 5, Leon fell headlong onto the floor and passed out.

However, the good news is that Leon can celebrate with his teammates winning the trophy. The victory of the team from Perugia should come as no surprise. The team of Leon and Semeniuk is the only undefeated team in the Italian league, and the aces of the Polish players are some of the most distinguished actions. So it seems that the Italian Super Cup is the first of this year’s successes for the Sir Safety Perugia club.
