On the occasion of the 104th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, the National Independence Day was celebrated. The Presidents of Poland and Lithuania took part in a ceremonial briefing at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw. President Andrzej Duda: “Lithuania and Poland together. Sovereign, independent, proud, and strong. This is strengthening the security of our part of Europe.”

Today, on November 11, a guard briefing was held in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The national flag was raised on the mast and the National Anthem was sung. Then, the Appeal of Remembrance was read and a national salute was given.
Apart from the Polish presidential couple, the ceremony was also attended by the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda and his wife.

President Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Warsaw the day before. On Thursday, together with Andrzej Duda, he took part in the second meeting of the Presidential Council of Poland and Lithuania.
During his speech, the President Andrzej Duda thanked everyone who, over the last five years (the time of the ending celebrations of the centenary of Poland regaining independence) reminded us of the great value of a sovereign state, educated young people and reminded them of heroes and ancestors.
“I am very grateful to all of you, my compatriots, for building this deep awareness of the value of independence.”, President Duda said.
