Despite personnel changes, the effect remains the same – which is the Volleyball World Championship title. Mere three weeks ago no one had expected that the Polish national team would be playing in the final of the Volleyball Men’s World Championships. Today no one doubts that Poles are the best team in the world. They proved that talent and perseverance leads to great results.
The final game against the Brazilian national team was in Polish control from the very beginning. The South American side certainly tried their best but in the end fell short of our team’s perfect performance. Watching their playoff performances, it seemed as if our team had an endless supply of energy. In both their games against the United States of America and Brazil they looked like true World Champions.
All thanks to this gentleman.Vital Heynen created a solid, cohesive team in mere 5 months. A team which gained momentum game after game, playing better with each stage, culminating in a gold-winning performance on Sunday evening.
After the game, individual awards were given out to players. Poles accounted for 4 out of 8 outstanding athletes of the tournament. Paweł Zatorski was chosen as the best libero, while the accolades for the best outside hitter and middle blocker were awarded to Michał Kubiak and Piotr Nowakowski respectively. Meanwhile, the Most Valuable Player of the tournament was deservedly given to Bartosz Kurek.
President Andrzej Duda paid close attention to the final game. The head of state of Poland thanked the volleyball team via social media Looking at the way the future of this team is panning out, we can be certain that these players will undoubtedly be the reason for our national happiness and pride in the days to come.
