The date of Polish presidential elections has been announced

The Speaker of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, announced the date of the Polish presidential elections later this year. Poles will go to the polls on Sunday, May 10. If no candidate wins more than 50% of the votes, the second round with the two leading candidates will be held two weeks later, on Sunday, May 24.

“I am setting the election date as Sunday, May 10, 2020. The election decree has attached an enclosure with the election calendar, which received positive references by the National Election Board. This decree is effective as soon as it is published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Poland. As far as I know, it is still possible this will happen today or, at the latest, tomorrow. From that moment, all presidential candidates will be able to officially start their election campaigns”, announced the Speaker of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek.
