“Russia suspends implementation of grain deal for an indefinite term. The reason is the terrorist attack in Sevastopol,” Russian News Agency TASS informed on Saturday. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis tweeted that it is time to end attempts to negotiate with Russia. His words were addressed by MP Anna Milczanowska on the “W Punkt” program on TV Republika that “Russia wants to starve the whole world.”

MP Anna Milczanowska referred to the head of Lithuanian diplomacy’s words.
“Let me start with what Russia is doing. This is another element of hybrid war. Russia supposedly explains itself by the fact that the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet – “Admiral Makarov ” – was fired upon, but after all, all this has been going on for months. Russia wants to starve the whole world,” she noted.
Katarzyna Gojska asked whether there was still any point in trying to reach an agreement with Russia through diplomatic channels.
“From what we observe, there are fewer and fewer of these diplomatic solutions left. Non-stop there is this expectation that maybe a reckoning will come, but there is nothing to count on. The people, just as they were murdered, are being murdered. […] Russia will be making avocations all the time, just to distract the world from helping Ukraine. But the world should support it all the time (…) Concrete measures should be taken,” the MP added.
MP Milczanowska also referred to the UN Security Council meeting called for Monday by Russia, as reported by Polish Ambassador to the UN Krzysztof Szczerski.
“Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council following an attack on Black Sea Fleet ships, after which it suspended cooperation under a grain export agreement; the meeting is likely to be held on Monday,” Krzysztof Szczerski, Permanent Representative of Poland to the United Nations in New York, informed on Twitter.

“Russia should be removed from this body. Russia is waging a bestial war where civilians are being murdered. This country should be excluded. There is no chance for any conversation here,” she stressed.
“Poland has food security, and we have no problem in this regard as a country, we stand in solidarity with the world, well, because what the lack of grain means for Africa – we know very well. Famine and famine will cause a gigantic migration and pressure not on the United States, not on other countries of the world, but a gigantic pressure on the European Union. Of course, we are taking action by land, but this is a drop in the ocean. And when we turn to the European Union, there is dead silence, there is no answer, and this is sad. Moscow has suspended the implementation of the food deal starting from Saturday and for an indefinite term due to the terrorist attack on Sevastopol, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs cited by the Russian News Agency TASS informed that due to “the Ukrainian armed forces, led by British specialists, which targeted, among others, the Russian ships ensuring the functioning of the said humanitarian corridor (which cannot be defined otherwise than but as an act of terrorism), Russia cannot provide security guarantees for the civilian dry cargo vessels participating in the ‘Black Sea Grain Initiative’ and suspends its implementation from today and for an indefinite period.”
Regarding Russian authorities’ decision, the United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric referred to it as assured that the UN was in touch with Russian authorities.
“We’ve seen the reports from the Russian Federation regarding the suspension of their participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative following an attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet. We are in touch with the Russian authorities on this matter,” United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric told CNN.
Explosions were heard on Saturday morning (Oct 29) in Sevastopol, which is the base of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Russian propaganda media stated that Black Sea Fleet ships had repelled a drone attack.
