Marie Curie was the first person to be awarded the Nobel Prize twice, and is still the only individual to receive the prize in two different science categories.

In the birthplace of the Nobel Prize winner, that is a tenement house built in the 18th century at 16 Freta Street in Warsaw, Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum has been mantaining Skłodowska’s heritage since 1967.
The permanent exhibition consists of an extensive collection of original copies of notes and letters of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, as well as photographs, documents and personal belongings of the scientist and her family. The exhibits include sculptures by famous Polish artists as well as stamps, medals and banknotes commemorating the scientist. Part of the exhibition was arranged as the Paris laboratory of the Curies. You can also see measuring instruments from the Maria and Pierre Curie laboratory. The living room of the Skłodowskis and Curies, includes, for instance, original furniture and family memorabilia.
On the occasion of the 155th birthday of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, the museum invites everyone to celebrate:
IN MUSEUM
On Monday, November 7, we open to visitors the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw (ul. Freta 16). Admission from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. is free.
In program:
✅ visiting the newest temporary exhibition on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the opening of the Radium Institute in Warsaw;
Radio show based on Artur Pałyga’s play: “Radium Queen. A tiny Polish-American museum of imagination. ”, (2:00 pm and 3:00 pm);
Performative reading of the monodrama titled “It started with Maria” by Dorota Landowska * (6.00 pm);
✅Birthday surprises, sweets and a cake.
OUTDOOR
At 11.30 am, together with the Maria Skłodowska-Curie family, we will lay flowers in front of the Nobel Prize winner’s monument on the Vistula embankment, at ul. Kościelna.
ONLINE
We invite you to the premiere of the report from the concert of Korean creators of the musical “Marie Curie”. Artists who visited Warsaw in July sang for the audience gathered in the museum and told about their experiences in creating the show. Online premiere on FB fanpage and YouTube channel.
