Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin and President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Wojciech Dąbrowski met with representatives of the Korean energy company KHNP. The meeting concerned the construction of a nuclear power plant in Pątnów.
During the meeting, key issues for the implementation of the project, such as: research and preparation of the location for the construction of the power plant, preparation of an environmental impact report, and the future business structure of the project were discussed.
A letter of intent regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant in Pątnów was signed between PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, ZE PAK, and the Korean company KHNP on October 30, 2022. The Ministry of State Assets and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea also concluded agreements on intergovernmental cooperation.
Talks on cooperation in the project were also continued during the World Economic Forum in Davos, both with KHNP, as well as at the government level with Mr. Lee Chang-yang, Minister of Trade, Infrastructure and Energy of the Republic of Korea, as well as with the President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Yoon Suk-yeol.
