The fans of Polish football club Legia Warszawa express their opposition to the attack on Saint John Paul II after the release of the private broadcaster’s slanderous material.

Last week we informed on the unprecedented attack on the Person of Saint John Paul II. Accusations of covering up cases of paedophile acts among Catholic priests have been levelled against the eminent Pole.

The storm continues unabated after the broadcast of the report ‘Franciszkanska 3.’ It allegedly shows that the Polish Pope knew about paedophilia in the Church. Scandalous statements by opposition party leaders, politicians, as well as activists from various organisations can be found on the internet.

Politicians, organizations, professors, and individuals see the actions of the left as provocations. They oppose the alleged accusations against the late Pope.

Last week, the President of the Republic of Poland, the Prime Minister and many politicians, such as MEP Dominik Tarczyński, former Prime Minister and MEP Beata Szydło, among others, speak up on this issue.

Yesterday (March 12), the fans of the Polish football club Legia Warszawa prepared a special banner with a warning to leftists who attack the legacy of Pope John Paul II. They wrote “Hands off John Paul II” on it.

“Football fans of Legia Warszawa show their support for Pope John Paul II after recent media reports claiming he didn’t do enough against paedophile priest while being a cardinal,”

    Visegrad 24 wrote on Twitter.

On Monday, TVN24 broadcast a report by Marcin Gutowski, 'Franciszkańska 3', on the question of what Pope John Paul II knew about cases of paedophilia among priests. It described the cases of three priests, i.e., Bolesław Saduś, Eugeniusz Surgent and Józef Loranc, and the reaction to them of the then Krakow metropolitan cardinal Karol Wojtyła. The report also featured statements by Dutch journalist Ekke Overbeek, author of the book 'Maxima Culpa. What the Church Hides About John Paul II'.
In response to the report, the Sejm passed a resolution on Thursday to defend the good name of St John Paul II.
