Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that Ukraine had ordered 100 Rosomak infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) from the country. The military vehicles will be used to reinforce Ukraine’s armed forces.
On Saturday, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited Rosomak S.A. It is the manufacturer of the wheeled armoured personnel carrier Rosomak (Polish for Wolverine), in Siemianowice Slaskie, located in Poland’s southern industrial region of Silesia. During the visit, Morawiecki was given a tour of the factory and was shown the various production processes and techniques used in the manufacture of the vehicle.
“Today, in Siemianowice Slaskie, is a very good day for the Polish industry, for Silesia and Poland,”
he said.
“And today in Siemianowice Slaskie I can say that we’ve received yet another purchase order, I’m bringing a purchase order that I received yesterday from the Ukrainian prime minister, Denys Shmyhal, for 100 Rosomaks that will be manufactured here,”
Morawiecki said.
He added that the IFVs will be paid for by European money, “but also by American money that has been given to Ukraine.”
“It is important to realise that the Polish arms production is gathering pace. (…) Also thanks to us having been able to win those additional contracts,”
he continued.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has expressed his confidence that Rosomak S.A. will receive even more orders in the near future. It is worth mentioning that the Rosomak S.A. is nation’s leading supplier of military vehicles. Following a meeting with Rosomak’s management, Morawiecki noted that the company has made tremendous progress and is well-positioned to serve the needs of Poland’s armed forces. He added that he was confident the company would continue to expand its business in the coming months.
“New orders are highly probable from Slovenia, with which I’ve also talked, and from Saudi Arabia (…) These negotiations are continuing but they may be successful,”
he said.
“We have a huge manufacturing potential, and our goals include new jobs, higher wages and strengthening of the Polish industry,”
he said.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has revealed that he intends to make an announcement soon regarding an increase in arms production at the Bumar-Labedy weapons plant in Gliwice, southern Poland.
“In Bumar in Gliwice we’ll soon be making very important announcements… about transferring some manufacturing and increasing manufacturing,”
he said.
