Road to victory
Basketball club Anwil Włocławek, who won the championship in the 2017/2018 season, continued their success by signing their coach, Igor Milicić, to a two-year contract. The team’s roster was mostly built from scratch, with some players leaving due to financial expectations or other reasons. Anwil’s preparation for the demanding Basketball Champions League season was successful, as they brought in new players and extended contracts with some existing players, such as the captain, Kamil Łączyński. Despite losing one player to medical reasons, they were ready for the season, with a total of twelve players on their roster. After a slow start, the team won ten consecutive games, thanks to the efforts of their coach and roster changes, including the addition of Aaron Broussard.
