Orlen has announced the completion of its acquisition of a 10 MW solar farm located near the town of Wałcz in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. This investment enables the company to provide green energy to nearly 5,000 households, marking another significant step in Orlen’s energy transition efforts.
Acquisition Details
The solar power plant, acquired by Orlen Wind 3, a subsidiary of the Orlen Group, was purchased from Forum IV FIZ and Prime PV Assets. The facility spans over 11 hectares and consists of 18,600 photovoltaic panels and 40 inverters. This acquisition is a part of Orlen’s strategic expansion in the renewable energy sector.

Currently, Orlen boasts over 100 MW of installed capacity in photovoltaics. In the West Pomeranian region alone, the company also generates electricity from six wind farms with a combined capacity of 226 MW. The recent purchase underscores Orlen’s commitment to expanding its portfolio in renewable energy sources.
Alignment with Poland’s Energy Policy
Orlen’s initiatives align with Poland’s updated Energy Policy until 2040, which aims for zero-emission energy sources to account for over 50% of the country’s electricity consumption by the end of the decade. The company’s ongoing acquisitions and development of renewable installations reflect its dedication to this national goal.
