“This many collective layoffs were announced in just the first two months of 2025. That’s three times more than last year. Layoffs are happening across the country,” writes user Paweł Usiądek on platform X.
Since the coalition government took power on December 13, layoffs have been occurring in all sectors. As Usiądek reports this time:
“The wave of collective layoffs in Poland is not slowing down! Nearly 15,000 employees will lose their jobs.”
He also points out that “entrepreneurs rightly highlight that the biggest problem in Poland is the cost of electricity and gas. Work and production in Poland are becoming simply too expensive and cannot compete with businesses from Asia.”
