Renowned Journalist Jacek B. Arrested Again for Armed Robbery

Jacek B., a well-known journalist with a history of legal troubles, has been arrested and detained for three months in connection with an armed robbery. The journalist, who previously worked for prominent media outlets such as RMF FM and TVN, was apprehended along with three other suspects by police in Silesia. The arrest followed a joint operation by officers from the Criminal Division of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice and the Zabrze police, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zabrze.

The incident in question occurred on August 12th in a parking lot of a store in Zabrze. The perpetrators, armed with a knife and an object resembling a firearm, allegedly coerced the victim into transferring nearly one million złoty to a specified account. The suspects were arrested several days later in coordinated raids across multiple cities, including Katowice, Radom, and Tychy, with the involvement of counter-terrorism units from various regions.

Jacek B., a two-time Grand Press award winner, has a checkered past. His criminal record dates back to the late 1980s when he was convicted for deserting the army. He later faced charges related to a car fraud scheme and was imprisoned for armed robbery and making criminal threats. Despite these convictions, he managed to build a career in journalism, claiming that his past experiences gave him an edge in the field. TVN, his last known employer, believed in giving him a second chance.

However, this second chance seems to have been squandered, as Jacek B. now faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the latest charges.
