Polish students win four medals, including a gold, at the 2024 European Junior Olympiad in Informatics.

Polish young programmers have once again demonstrated their exceptional talent by securing four medals at the 2024 European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI). The event, held from August 16 to 22 in Chișinău, Moldova, saw fierce competition among Europe’s brightest minds. Piotr Dybich, a graduate of Primary School No. 1 in Strzyżów, won a gold medal and ranked second overall, earning the title of European vice-champion. His remarkable achievement marks his third EJOI medal.

    Polish Team Success

The Polish team, guided by mentors Bartosz Kostka and Paweł Dietrich, delivered an impressive performance. Alongside Dybich’s gold, Artur Smoleński and Krzysztof Witkowski, both seventh-grade students from Primary School No. 221 in Warsaw, each secured a silver medal. Michał Roguz, a graduate of Primary School No. 79 in Łódź, added a bronze medal to the tally.

    A Rich Tradition of Excellence

The EJOI, established in 2017, continues to highlight young European talent in informatics. This year’s success adds to Poland’s growing legacy in the competition.
