Andrzej Duda accepted Biden's invitation. He will present Polish concepts at the climate summit

President Andrzej Duda will attend the climate summit convened by US President Joe Biden, which begins on Thursday. President Duda will speak at Friday’s debate on issues of economic growth and job creation combined with ambitious climate policy. The meeting has a symbolic dimension, experts stress, and provides a field for building concepts and plans before the climate summit in Glasgow in the autumn of 2021.

The US President has invited the President of Poland to participate in a virtual summit of the leaders of the world’s largest economies on climate protection. Leaders from about 40 countries, including China, India, Brazil and Russia, are scheduled to attend the two-day summit, which begins on Thursday. Due to the pandemic, the event will be virtual.

    – President Duda will attend the summit together with Climate and Environment Minister Michał Kurtyka. He will be speaking in a debate on issues of economic growth and job creation combined with ambitious climate policies on Friday – said last week the Chief of the Chancellery of Presidential Office for International Policy, Krzysztof Szczerski.

As he noted, Andrzej Duda would take the floor, “sharing the experience of our entire region, because he would be the only president from our part of Europe and one of several from all over Europe, who has been invited to this summit.

Szczerski emphasized that during the summit the President would present Polish concepts and experiences regarding fair economic transformation, creating new jobs in innovative industries related to the green economy, and would touch upon energy security issues.
