Will Trump Help Ukraine Achieve Peace? Andrzej Duda Makes It Clear in Sky News Interview

U.S. President Donald Trump is the best chance for bringing peace to Ukraine, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated in an interview published Saturday by British broadcaster Sky News.

“Shock Therapy”

“If there is anyone who can end the Russian war, it is most likely the President of the United States. The question remains whether he will be determined enough to do so in a way that ensures lasting and just peace,” he added, emphasizing that this is especially important for Europe.

The Polish president referenced Trump’s actions during his first term—targeting the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and “thwarting Putin’s energy ambitions”—as proof that the American leader “knows where to hit to make it hurt.”

President Duda described Trump’s tariff policy as “shock therapy” carried out by a man who has achieved “tremendous business and trade successes in the past.”

“This is not something European politicians are used to, but Donald Trump answers to American taxpayers, not European partners, who must remain calm in the face of the new reality of transatlantic relations,” President Duda noted.
