Prosecutor Avenger to Charge Kaczyński – “There’s Probably Already an Indictment Ready”

“I suspect that there is already an indictment ready in this case, which will be sent to the court,” said PiS MP Mariusz Gosek while commenting on a news report from Niezalezna.pl. “Today, we learned that the prosecutor’s office is set to reopen the ‘two towers’ case. Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek will be taking charge, with the task of bringing charges against PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński.” These findings were discussed on the program Miłosz Kłeczek High Voltage. Most guests on Telewizja Republika were convinced that reopening the investigation is nothing less than a political attack on the opposition leader—timed to coincide with the electoral campaign.

A Question of Justice?

The Niezalezna.pl report was dissected on Miłosz Kłeczek High Voltage on Telewizja Republika, where most invited guests asserted that the matter is not about justice but rather a politically motivated assault against the opposition leader.

Holding Accountable Those Who Benefited Her

Marta Stożek from the Together Party (Partia Razem) noted a personal approach by Prosecutor Wrzosek in the entire affair. “I understand that Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek also wants the state prosecution to take vigorous steps to hold accountable those individuals she perceives as having previously contributed to her well-being,” Stożek commented. “This is very disturbing, of course,” she stressed, adding that “it is difficult to prosecute a case for which there are no documents to prove the allegations. Even when dealing with the ‘two towers’ case—or any other case—Prosecutor Wrzosek will not be able to produce documents that simply do not exist.”

Cogs of Power

“Ms. Wrzosek, in my opinion, is not just an ordinary person in this context,” stated Rafał Merkel of the Confederation. The MP recalled that as recently as last December, Wrzosek declared, “this is not the time to stick to the letter of the law.” “The fact that anyone connected with the law would make such a statement is highly disturbing, and if I were being judged by such a person, I’d be extremely concerned—honestly,” he added.

Merkel compared the current situation to the post-communist reckoning with the so-called “Cursed Soldiers.” “Back then, we had prosecutors and judges working on commission—such cogs of power. Here we have the same mechanism at work,” he assessed.

He went on to label the situation as “manual management of the state.” “Ms. Wrzosek was ousted for criticizing Bodnar, for her plans regarding Giertych, and what did Tusk do? He promoted that person. This is a kind of corporate management designed to make these people compete with one another, because in the end the ultimate winner will be Donald Tusk—either this prosecutor or that one will be at his service, whoever can bring him more,” Merkel declared. “If this were about holding anyone accountable, then that person would have been held accountable. This is about getting you, the state, to focus on something else,” he told the viewers of Republika.

Is Anything Really Known?

Former Polski 2050 MP Artur Dziambor, however, argued that if charges are brought against Kaczyński, they will be “based on evidence rather than on the whims of an MP or a prosecutor.” According to Dziambor, the “two towers” case “was with us a few years ago” and “ended in such a way that it was over.” “We don’t really know what happened with it. We only know that there was such a case for a while. There was some discussion about an envelope, about a meeting with a foreign investor… none of us understood it, and then the case just faded away,” he explained.

Yet program host Miłosz Kłeczek reminded him that what exactly happened is well documented: the investigation lasted ten months before the prosecutor’s office decided to drop the case. Moreover, an appeal was filed against that decision—and the court sided with the prosecution.

The Authorities Create Crimes

“Jarosław Kaczyński doesn’t own a foundation or even a piece of land—basically, he has none of that… he simply garnered votes, and even that in a manner recorded very positively for him,” assessed Marek Jakubiak from the Republicans. In his view, “today’s authorities create crimes rather than invent them.” He also recalled remarks by attorney Roman Giertych, a Civic Coalition (KO) politician, who recently claimed that the “two towers” case should be linked to the death of Gdańsk Mayor Paweł Adamowicz. “That is absolutely absurd… This is really… one would need to call a doctor,” Jakubiak stated.

Interference in the Elections

Mariusz Gosek of PiS asserted that assessing Wrzosek’s “independence” is as simple as looking at her profile on platform X. He noted that in this entire case, aside from Giertych, one more name must come up—Rafał Trzaskowski. “Ms. Wrzosek interfered during the elections. There was that famous case revealed by Telewizja Republika—the ‘give a retweet to Rafał’ affair. It involved Michał D., the head of the security office at city hall. It was about drugged drivers operating buses,” Gosek recalled, referring to the SMS scandal discussed further in related texts.

According to Gosek, the affair completely disqualifies Wrzosek from handling the case concerning the leader of the largest opposition party. “This is interference in the electoral process once again,” he emphasized. “I suspect that there is already an indictment ready, which will be sent to the court,” he announced.

This Must Have Repercussions

Łukasz Rzepecki from the Chancellery of the President of the Republic assessed that “there is no reason to believe that President Kaczyński could have broken any law in any case.” “The current authorities are doing everything they can to raise substitute issues. Just as things didn’t work out with Minister Ziobro and Prime Minister Morawiecki, now they have decided to play the card of President Kaczyński,” he stated. “This must have one repercussion—a revolt within society. Society must express that revolt at the ballot box by voting in the presidential elections,” Rzepecki declared.

In his view, the current authorities “want to close the system.” “They will do everything and use every argument and every method so that the candidate of the ruling coalition wins the elections. In internal polls, Prime Minister Donald Tusk must be coming out very poorly. That is why he is throwing a lifeline in the form of mudslinging at the leader of the largest political party, President Kaczyński. But that won’t work for Tusk,” he concluded.
