Bodnar’s Move Against Błaszczak Sparks Controversy

Poland’s Prosecutor General, Adam Bodnar, has submitted a request to lift the parliamentary immunity of former Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak. The move follows accusations that Błaszczak disclosed classified details of Poland’s defense strategy. Critics argue that this revelation endangered national security, while supporters claim it exposes the previous government’s flawed defense planning.

Kownacki: “A Primitive Political Revenge”

Bartosz Kownacki, former Deputy Minister of Defense, sees the case as pure political vengeance. “This is nothing but an attempt to eliminate one of the best defense ministers of the Third Republic,” he said. He further criticized the government, claiming it uses such cases to mask its failures. “Since they have nothing to show, they cover it up with absurd accusations,” he added. Kownacki assured that PiS would revisit the case in the future.
