    President: At the end of June, Polish Army will leave Afghanistan

    “According to the decisions of allies, we decided not to extend the mission of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan. At the end of June we complete our military commitment to the largest NATO operation in history,” President Andrzej Duda reported.

    “At the end of June, after 20 years, we complete the military commitment to the largest NATO operation in history. Today, the first Polish soldiers will return to the country,” President wrote on Twitter .

    On April 14, the North Atlantic Council – the main political decision-making body of NATO – decided that “there is no military solution” against the challenges facing Afghanistan and announced the completion of an allied mission in this country.

    Ministers of foreign affairs of member states have announced that “the withdrawal will be ordered, coordinated and considered” and is to be ended within a few months.
