Spiritual Support for Missionaries: “Missionary for Lent” Initiative Launches 12th Edition

The 12th edition of the “Missionary for Lent” initiative has begun, encouraging spiritual support for Polish missionaries during Lent through prayer, fasting, or offering suffering. As per tradition, the campaign starts on Ash Wednesday, March 5. Currently, 1,662 Polish missionaries serve in 99 countries, engaging not only in evangelization but also in humanitarian efforts such as building wells, healthcare centers, and schools.

Participants can join by visiting www.misjonarznapost.pl, filling out a form, and receiving the name of a missionary to support. “Each person individually chooses how to spiritually support their assigned missionary,” the organizers explain. The campaign, supported by Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC, engages 40-45 thousand participants annually. “Apart from material aid, they also need spiritual support,” emphasized Fr. Marcin Wrzos OMI, the initiative’s founder.
