Polish presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki stresses the importance of US troops in Poland while criticizing Donald Tusk and European leaders.
Criticism of Tusk and European Leaders
Polish presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki has declared that, if elected, he will be present at all key negotiation tables regarding Poland’s future. In an interview with WP.pl, he criticized Prime Minister Donald Tusk, stating, “I am not surprised that Donald Tusk, who insulted Donald Trump and suggested his ties to Russia, is not invited to the table.” Nawrocki also dismissed the involvement of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron in such discussions, implying that Poland should rely on its own strength and alliances beyond the EU’s leadership.
US Troop Presence and Trust in Trump
Nawrocki reaffirmed his strong support for a US military presence in Poland, emphasizing, “The more American soldiers are in Poland, the better for Poland.” He expressed doubt about the commitment of former US President Donald Trump to military cooperation if the upcoming Polish election is won by opposition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski. Nawrocki argued that Trzaskowski, as a representative of the Civic Platform party, is too closely aligned with Brussels, which “does not inspire trust.” His statements reflect a strong pro-American stance and skepticism toward European leadership in shaping Poland’s security policy.
