Anna Falkowska Wins Medal at Junior World Cup in Quebec

The Junior World Cup in Quebec served as the final test for Poland’s short track speed skating team ahead of the upcoming Junior World Championships in Calgary. The Polish squad, supported by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A., had undergone performance tests and altitude adaptation in Canada. The competition in Quebec provided a valuable experience before the main event.

Falkowska Claims Bronze in Quebec

Anna Falkowska was the only Polish skater to reach the podium, securing bronze in the 500m event. Kornelia Woźniak finished just outside the medals in fourth place. Hanna Mazur also came close, placing sixth in the 1500m final. Other Polish skaters, including Michalina Wawer and Krzysztof Mądry, showed promise but missed out on top spots. In the relay events, both the men’s and women’s teams competed in the B finals, finishing third and second, respectively.

With the Junior World Championships starting on February 27, the Polish team now focuses on recovery. Head coach Dariusz Kulesza believes the skaters are well-prepared but emphasizes the importance of mental strength in key moments. “The next three days will be dedicated to regeneration,” he stated.
