We have already provided the Czech side with the appropriate resources on Thursday; it was €35 million and €10 million from PGE; followed by the Czech Republic withdrawing its complaint to the European institutions regarding Turow. This ended the matter completely, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday.
“We have already transferred the appropriate funds yesterday. It was 35 million and 10 from PGE. I will remind you that originally there was even a figure of 55 million at stake, so we reduced it significantly,” said the Prime Minister at the press conference at the opening of the Laboratory of the Future in Nowa Sarzyna, Podkarpackie Province.
“The Czech Republic has withdrawn its complaint to European institutions and that is the end of this issue,” Morawiecki stressed.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Czech Head of Government Petr Fiala signed an agreement in Prague on Thursday “between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Czech Republic on cooperation in addressing the impacts on the territory of the Czech Republic resulting from the operation of the Turów coal mine.” The agreement stipulates that Poland is to pay €35 million in compensation, while the PGE Foundation is to transfer €10 million to the Liberec state.
