“There is no doubt we are dealing with the actions of a person or persons with pyrotechnic training, knowledgeable in preparing explosive devices, and understanding where and how to install and activate them. I believe this was an act of terrorism. This act aimed to cause a large-scale catastrophe in railway transport,” says Col. Mariusz Kozłowski, a retired officer of the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), in an interview with the portal Niezależna.pl.
On Sunday morning, a dangerous incident occurred on the Warsaw-Dęblin railway line. The train driver managed to brake just before a large gap in the tracks. A day earlier, around 9 p.m., the police received information about an explosion in the area, and on the tracks, as the station reports, a long electrical cable was found, stretching toward a nearby parking lot.
Yesterday, another dangerous incident on railway line No. 7 was revealed. Between the stations Puławy Azoty and Puławy-Chemia, a train traveling from Świnoujście to Rzeszów, carrying 475 people, was forced to make an emergency stop. The reason for the stop was a loss of traction on one section of the line. A metal component attached to the tracks was also discovered at the site, along with a telecommunication device that was not part of the railway infrastructure.
According to TV Republika, several kilometers from the location of the emergency stop of the Świnoujście-Rzeszów train, a long section of overhead line was found abandoned in a ditch, as well as another component attached to the tracks that could have caused a derailment.
“It was an act of terrorism.”
Niezależna.pl asked Col. Mariusz Kozłowski, a retired SKW officer and security expert, to comment on the dangerous railway events.
“All the information reaching us step by step points to deliberate action by a person or persons with pyrotechnic training, knowledgeable in preparing explosive charges and knowing where and how to install and activate them,” the expert notes.
“I believe this was an act of terrorism. This act aimed to cause a large-scale disaster in railway transport,” he adds.
“Apart from what is visible on the tracks, we are dealing with disastrous communication from the government and special services – namely the prime minister, the government spokesperson, and the coordinator for special services. Their reaction was delayed, and it occurred only due to the pressure exerted by TV Republika, which was the first station to inform the public and report what happened near Dęblin on Sunday,”
the interviewee argues.
“Had it not been for TV Republika, we might still not know what happened. Only after TV Republika’s report did other media begin to repeat the information,” Col. Kozłowski adds.
“I do not rule out that if not for TV Republika, the entire matter could have been swept under the rug by the government,” he continues.
“We can find more information about the events of the last hours on railway-related portals than on government websites. It is unbelievable. It confirms the tragic communication on the part of the authorities. And the fact that those in power appeared at the scene only today shows that the state does not function on weekends,”
the interviewee says.
“Everything happening in Poland – the disastrous communication, essentially an information embargo – is the result of the politicization of the secret services. It stems from the fact that the services are acting based on political orders, not focusing on matters crucial from the standpoint of national security, but rather on fighting the opposition and fighting the president himself,”
Col. Kozłowski says without hesitation.
“Boycotting a meeting with the president is something unbelievable. It is the collapse of counterintelligence. Its resources have been directed not toward counterintelligence work, but political operations. The refusal to meet with the president is an act of betrayal by counterintelligence toward the president,” he adds.
“There are many honest officers in Polish counterintelligence who do not agree with what is happening to the service. The leadership of the ABW and SKW has betrayed the president. This must be clearly stated,” he concludes.
