The Paris 2024 Olympics saw 10,714 athletes from 206 countries competing across 32 sports. A total of 329 medal sets were awarded, slightly fewer than the record 339 in Tokyo 2021. Despite the global scale, Poland’s performance was notably lackluster.
Poland’s Medal Struggle
With a contingent of 215 athletes, Poland secured just 10 medals: one gold, four silver, and five bronze. Olympic champion Aleksandra Mirosław earned the nation’s sole gold in speed climbing. This meager haul placed Poland 42nd in the medal table, the country’s lowest position in Olympic history. By contrast, in Tokyo 2021, Poland ranked 17th with 14 medals, including four gold.
The United States maintained its dominance, leading the medal count with 40 golds, followed by China and Japan. France, as the host nation, celebrated its best Olympic performance ever, finishing fifth with 64 medals, 16 of which were gold.
