In May, a… satanist convention is being announced in Kraków. The event was publicized at the address where a congress center operated by a municipal company is located. “Satanic Convent 2026” is scheduled to take place just before the referendum on recalling Mayor Aleksander Miszalski (Civic Platform).
On May 24, a referendum will be held in Kraków on the dismissal of Aleksander Miszalski (Civic Platform (KO)) from the office of mayor, as well as on the dismissal of the Kraków City Council. The days leading up to the vote will certainly be turbulent. But – as it turns out – not only for political reasons. Someone has come up with the idea of organizing a… satanist convention in the capital of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship during those May days. Worse still – someone has allowed it.
“In 2026, the heart of Kraków will become a center of contemporary Satanism, philosophy of freedom, and independent spirituality“, reads the event announcement. “Satanic Convent 2026 is a three-day event bringing together representatives of various strands of Satanism – theistic, symbolic, philosophical, and atheistic – as well as individuals interested in freedom of belief, occultism, and spiritual independence“, it continues.
The program is set to include lectures and panel discussions “led by leaders and researchers of Satanism“, presentations of satanist organizations, concerts inspired by Satanism, and an “exhibition zone“.
“The goal of the event is to integrate the community, exchange knowledge, break stereotypes, and build dialogue on freedom of beliefs and 21st-century spirituality”, the organizers write.
The event is scheduled for May 21-23, just before the referendum on recalling Kraków Mayor Aleksander Miszalski and the city council.
The location? 17 Marii Konopnickiej Street. This is where the ICE Congress Centre is located, operated by the Municipal Development Agency of Kraków. The company is wholly owned by the Municipality of Kraków, and the beneficial owner listed in the National Court Register is… Aleksander Miszalski.
