The government’s Active School program has successfully completed its first year, inspiring thousands of Poles to embrace physical activity. Aiming to improve public health and fitness, the initiative has reached over 2,100 municipalities nationwide, creating accessible opportunities for all age groups.
Three Pillars of Progress
Active School focuses on three pillars: Active Orlik, Active Weekend, and Active². These pillars engage communities through free sports sessions, weekend activities, and extracurricular school programs. More than 5,600 schools introduced additional sports classes, ensuring children and teens adopt healthier lifestyles beyond regular physical education.
Impressive Results and Community Impact
The first year saw over 1.8 million hours of sports activities, supported by 13,000 coaches across 8,300 venues. Notable initiatives like the “From Orlik to Stadium” football tournament attracted 5,500 teams, promoting teamwork and ambition among young athletes.
Empowering Coaches and Communities
Over 10,000 sports animators and trainers enhanced their skills through specialized training programs, boosting the quality of physical education nationwide.
Active School is a significant step toward a healthier, more united society, supported by government funding through the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
