Sowing Hatred
Today, the portal Niezalezna.pl revealed further links between creators and administrators of hate-driven social media groups and Civic Coalition (KO) MP and lawyer Roman Giertych. One such Facebook group, “Roman Giertych. Free Media, Free Courts, Free People,” along with several similar pages, is managed by 74-year-old Elżbieta Wilczyńska, a former deputy minister from the League of Polish Families. Wilczyńska is also active in the infamous troll farm “Sieci Na Wybory” (“Networks for the Elections”), which promotes hate-filled hashtags to generate wide online reach. She frequently shares content created by Jan Piński, who also has ties to Giertych.
The scope and tone of the vile content shared in these groups is illustrated by posts such as a graphic showing Przemysław Czarnek’s severed head in a fridge, suggestions that Dariusz Matecki should be raped in prison, and praise for politically active prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek.
Ban, Ban, Ban!
MP Marek Jakubiak, running for president and representing the Wolni Republikanie circle, told Niezalezna.pl that Roman Giertych is “an instigator of online hate and the so-called Silni Razem movement.”
“This is extremely dangerous, as disinformation and the actions of various influence agents within the Republic are widely known phenomena. We see this clearly in how groups like Silni Razem form their own little domains on social media,” said Jakubiak.
“I’ve personally blocked around 9,000 such accounts on X. Many are viral trolls or fake profiles that exist solely to insult others. Anyone who doesn’t block them gives them space to exist, to breathe. My advice: ban, ban, ban!”
Jakubiak added that such bans lead to frustration among trolls, who then have to create new emails and identities just to post another vulgar comment—otherwise, algorithms catch them.
“I believe Roman Giertych has truly changed before our eyes. The hatred—likely triggered by the accusations against his law firm—has gone far beyond any imaginable boundaries.”
This Is Foreign Interference
Asked how he views this kind of political conduct, Jakubiak firmly rejected it as politics at all.
“This isn’t politics. Politics is supposed to serve the common good—not just one tribe. These actions are criminal in nature and should be labeled as hate speech, but they won’t be, because hate speech is already the game they’re playing,” he explained.
“I don’t know what kind of game this is, but it undoubtedly leaves people harmed and emotionally wrecked. I’ve been targeted by them twice, so I know what they’re capable of. Behind their verbal clubs are newspapers, websites, artificial intelligence—they have the tools.”
According to Jakubiak, this isn’t politics—it’s the work of foreign agents of influence in Poland.
“I refuse to call this politics. What we’re witnessing is the work of agents whose goal is to demoralize Polish citizens. They systematically target us—starting with the elites of the political right, who still try to do something good for the country. They strike from the top down, and at the end, they’re left with worker ants serving their German or perhaps even Russian patrons,” Jakubiak concluded.
The Main Political Message of the December 13 Coalition
Commenting on Niezalezna.pl’s findings, Law and Justice (PiS) MP Łukasz Schreiber said calling Giertych’s Sieci Na Wybory group “hate-based” is an understatement.
“These people often post on my social media pages—extremely vulgar and filthy comments. But let’s not forget that nearly the entire December 13 coalition went into the election under the obscene ‘eight stars’ slogan, and for some MPs, that’s their core political idea,” he said.
Schreiber believes such conduct reflects “total degeneration.”
“Given that, it’s grotesque that this very government is now preparing a law on so-called hate speech,” he noted.
