“American CPAC will track you down, expose you, and show the world the full extent of your scandalous behavior. One cannot publicly claim to defend freedom while simultaneously suppressing it,” said Matt Schlapp, head of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), addressing the Polish government in response to ongoing attacks on Telewizja Republika. The full interview will air tomorrow morning on journalist Michał Rachoń’s program.
For weeks, Telewizja Republika and its journalists have faced an escalating smear campaign, including threats of broadcast license revocation and pressure on advertisers. Despite being Poland’s largest conservative news station, supported in large part by thousands of Polish citizens, Republika has garnered strong international backing.
On Thursday, journalist Michał Rachoń will speak with Matt Schlapp, the leader of CPAC, the world’s largest conservative organization. Ahead of the interview’s full release, the network aired a preview of the conversation.
When asked what message he would send to politicians and governments trying to stifle independent media funded by ordinary people, Schlapp responded:
“I can only reiterate what my wife, Mercedes Schlapp, said at the Republika conference in Washington. American CPAC will track you down, expose you, and show the world the full extent of your scandalous behavior. One cannot publicly claim to defend freedom while simultaneously suppressing it.”
The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is an annual gathering of conservative movements, held in the United States since 1973. Over the years, it has expanded globally, bringing together conservatives from various continents to collaborate.
