“An Active Night.” Members of the Border Defence Movement Still on Duty

“Our patrols have not ended. We observe what is happening not only during the day but also at night, as evidenced by our presence tonight,” reported members of the Border Defence Movement in their latest video posted on X.

Due to the introduction of controls at Polish-German border crossings and the designation of these areas as critical infrastructure, which entails a ban on photographing and filming, volunteers from the Border Defence Movement (ROG) have been forced to modify their operations. Most permanent observation points have been replaced with mobile patrols. Both members of the organisation and road users affected by the controls point out that, in practice, Polish services inspect only a small fraction of vehicles entering the country.

A few hours ago, the Border Defence Movement’s profile published a video in which members of the organisation reported on their night watch.

“We wanted to share that we are here, and the whole night lies ahead of us. It will certainly be an active night. I suspect operations will continue until dawn. That doesn’t mean they’ll end at dawn. We plan to extend them until Sunday,” said one of the men.

One of the women emphasised that “our patrols have not ended.”

“We observe what is happening not only during the day but also at night, as evidenced by our presence tonight,” she stated.
