New analog lunar mission “M6 Żuławski” celebrates sci-fi pioneer Jerzy Żuławski with international experts and literary exploration.
The Lunares Research Station in Piła, Poland, has launched a new analog lunar mission, “M6 Żuławski,” marking a special tribute.
Commemorating a Pioneer
This mission celebrates the 150th anniversary of Jerzy Żuławski, a pioneer of Polish science fiction. A diverse international crew of five specialists will partake in this two-week project.
The Crew
Commander Hassam Guevra Jelid from Mexico leads the mission. Vice-Commander Elias Mulky brings biomedical engineering expertise from Switzerland and Syria. Communication Officer Mariló Torres Soto from Spain, Biological Lab Officer Jonathan Satchel from the USA, and Medical Officer Linda Delgado Libien from Mexico round out the team.
The crew will conduct ESA-approved experiments and engage in a literary exploration with a unique onboard library featuring works of Żuławski and Lem. This initiative, supported by Powergraph and Egmont Polska, aims to compare real mission experiences with science fiction narratives.
A discussion panel with top Polish sci-fi authors, including Michał Cholewa, Tomasz Kołodziejczak, and Marcin Przybyłek, will be moderated by Dr. Emmanuella Robak. The event, supported by Space is More and the Polish Science Fiction Foundation, will enrich this literary and scientific venture.
