Polish travellers need a UK ETA from April 2025. Learn who needs it, how to apply, and key exemptions.
Who Needs the UK ETA?
From April 2, 2025, Polish citizens traveling to the UK will require a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). This applies to short visits for tourism, business, or connecting flights. An ETA will also be necessary for creative workers staying under three months or paid assignments like guest speaking. It’s important to note that the ETA does not replace a visa. Travellers requiring a visa must follow the standard application process.
When and How to Apply
Applications open on March 5, 2025, and can be completed online or via the UK ETA app. The process takes around 20 minutes, and decisions are typically provided within three working days. An ETA is valid for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.
Key Exemptions
Travellers with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, British or Irish citizens, and those holding a valid UK visa are exempt.
